The fund will support the following initiatives:
- Support over 400 casual work force across the UAP Old Mutual and Faulu footprint in Kenya with donations to supplement the stretched demand on them during this period.
- Provide matched funding to UAP Old Mutual Group Staff, who in their individual capacity, are assisting vulnerable groups in the communities through provision of essential items such food, soap, water and sanitizers.
- Supporting National Initiatives on management of Covid-19 Pandemic at KES 5 Million. This will be in partnership with Government of Kenya and Private Sector for the containment of the pandemic in the Country. The Foundation’s support will be directed towards initiatives supporting provision of healthcare services to patients as well as protecting the healthcare personnel.
Speaking during the announcement, Group CEO UAP Old Mutual, Peter Mwangi reiterated the need for institutions and individuals to join efforts in combating the spread of the virus. “The effects of the Covid-19 pandemic have been felt globally and have impacted millions of lives. We as the UAP Old Mutual Group, like many, would like to extend our support to this fight. Healthcare is a key pillar in our Foundation’s strategy. We remain committed to continue supporting our frontline heroes at this time and call for like-minded people and Organizations to support in the fight to contain and end the pandemic.” He said.

We would like to urge all Kenyans to strictly adhere to guidelines set by the government and other health bodies such as the World Health Organisation. It is the only way we can overcome this pandemic.” Added Peter.
